Garett Macdonald, MBA, P. Eng.

President and Chief Executive Officer

Garett is a professional mining engineer with extensive experience in project development and mine operations with over 25 years of industry experience. Garett served as Vice President of Project Development for JDS Energy and Mining, and was responsible for leading the Curraghinalt Feasibility Study for Dalradian Resources, a +5M ounce high grade, narrow vein gold project in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Dalradian was acquired by Orion Mine Finance for $537M in 2018. From 2009 to 2013 he served as Vice President of Operations for Rainy River Resources prior to the $310M sale of Rainy River to New Gold Inc. Garett also held roles in mine operations and project engineering throughout his career with senior Canadian mining firms Placer Dome, Teck Corporation and Suncor Energy. Garett is currently a director of Aurelius Minerals and Gungnir Resources. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Western University’s Ivey Business School and a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) from Laurentian University in Sudbury.

Germaine M. Coombs, CPA, CMA

Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary

Germaine is a chartered professional accountant and certified management accountant with over 25 years of extensive financial and commercial experience predominantly in the mining and resource industry, successfully leading finance teams through different stages of project financing, construction and operations. Germaine also serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Aurelius Minerals Inc. and previously was the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Stonegate Agricom Ltd. from August 2010 until July 2017. Prior to this, she was Corporate Controller for FNX Mining Company Inc. from August 2004 to May 2010. From 1998 to 2004, she held progressively senior accounting roles at the Iron Ore Company of Canada, a Rio Tinto company. Germaine holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Perry Blanchard

Vice President, Environment and Sustainability

Perry Blanchard joined the Maritime Resources team in September 2020, bringing over 20 years of environment, health, and safety experience in the mining industry. Most recently, Mr. Blanchard was Manager, Environment and Sustainability at Kirkland Lake Gold’s Detour Lake Mine, one of Canada’s largest gold operations, where he was responsible for operations environmental management, project permitting, closure planning, and management of four Impact Benefits Agreements.

Prior to Kirkland Lake Gold and Detour Gold, Mr. Blanchard acted as Manager Health, Safety and Environment (“HSE”) for Vale’s Voisey’s Bay operations in Newfoundland and Labrador. At Vale’s base metal mine in Northern Labrador, Mr. Blanchard was responsible for operations HSE management systems, emergency and medical response, permitting, closure planning and Vale’s underground expansion construction project. Mr. Blanchard holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in environmental studies from the University of Cape Breton.

Peter Goudie

Operations Manager

Peter has over 30 years of mine operations and contracting experience within the Baie Verte mining district. Prior to joining Maritime he served as operations manager for Guy J. Bailey Limited and Shoreline Aggregates, where he was responsible for day to day operations of a large contract mining business and an aggregate business shipping over 1 million tonnes per year of crushed products to international markets. Peter brings a wealth of knowledge surrounding mine operations management, project execution, equipment maintenance, and performance improvement.

Larry Pilgrim, P.Geo.

Project Manager, Newfoundland Properties

Larry is a geologist with over thirty-nine years of precious metals and base metal exploration and mining experience. Joining in March 2018, Larry is currently the Project Manager for Maritime’s Newfoundland properties, where he is a key team member in the advancement for the Hammerdown project and exploration opportunities. Prior to this, Larry was the Chief Geologist and Exploration Manager for 11 years at the Rambler Mine, where he led the new resource calculation of the Lower Footwall Zone, 1807 zone, and downdip exploration of all 5 deposits. He also held senior Geologist positions at Commander Resources and Richmont Mines where he project managed and implemented exploration activities. Senior geologist with Richmont during delineation, development and production days of the Hammerdown Gold deposit. Larry is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and holds a Science Degree in Geology from Memorial University. Extensive experience in exploration for both precious and base metals throughout the Baie Verte and Springdale mining district.

Eric Tremblay, ing

Technical Advisor

The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Tremblay, ing. as a technical advisor to the Company. Mr. Tremblay has over 27 years of mine building and mine operations experience and is currently the COO of Dalradian Resources Inc. In his previous post with Osisko Mining, as General Manager of Canada’s largest gold mine, Canadian Malartic, he played a principal role in finalizing the construction of the mine and the production ramp-up. Mr. Tremblay also served as General Manager at IAMGOLD’s Westwood Project, where he participated in the closure of the Doyon Mine and construction of the Westwood Project. In this role, Mr. Tremblay was charged with completing the permitting, scoping study, feasibility study, surface construction and underground development. He has also served as the General Manager of IAMGOLD’s Sleeping Giant Mine, an underground mine using multiple mining methods (long hole, shrinkage, room and pillar). In this role his mandate was to optimize production and return the mine to profitability. Mr. Tremblay has also served as General Manager for the internal underground contractor of IAMGOLD, where he oversaw the project expansion of IAMGOLD’s underground mine. Mr. Tremblay is a graduate of Laval University with a B.Sc. in mining engineering and mineral processing.

John Hayes, M.Sc., MBA, P. Geo

Chairman and Director

John is a professional geologist with over 17 years of industry experience ranging from regional surveys to advanced exploration. In addition, John has many years of capital markets experience. John graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Geology (1989) and a Master of Science in Geology (1997). He also holds an MBA from Dalhousie University (2003). He is a member (P. Geo.) of the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador. John was a mining analyst and Managing Director for BMO Capital Markets from 2003 until his retirement in April 2014. In his role with BMO, John covered precious and base metal companies globally from exploration to production stages. John joined Osisko Mining Inc in June 2016, where he served as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development until March 2018. Most recently, John was Sr. Vice President of Business Development and Investor Relations for Pretium Resources.

Matthew Goodman

Director

Mr. Goodman has over 12 years of experience in capital markets and junior mining. Matthew joined Dundee Corporation in 2013 as a member of Goodman & Company, Investment Counsel, where he was responsible for evaluating strategic resource investment opportunities for Dundee Corporation and the Goodman Gold Trust. In September 2018, Mr. Goodman rejoined Goodman & Company, Investment Counsel, as an associate and, subsequently, as lead portfolio manager of the CMP and DGRC funds. Throughout Matthew’s tenure at Dundee, he has been a part of the corporate development team, overseeing Dundee’s most significant on-balance sheet assets. Matthew’s prior background includes in-field mineral exploration and equity capital markets experience. Matthew is a CFA Charterholder and holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree, specializing in Global Economics and Microeconomic Analysis from York University.

Allen J. Palmiere

Mr. Palmiere, a CA,CPA by training, has more than 35 years of experience in the mining industry both from a financial and operational perspective. Mr. Palmiere is currently CEO, President and Director of Gold Resource Corporation. His international experience includes South Africa, Central America, Guyana and Brazil and 10 years of experience in China. Mr. Palmiere’s expertise includes operations, executive management and financing, both debt and equity. Additionally, Mr. Palmiere has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Palmiere’s former executive positions include HudBay Minerals Inc., Executive Chairman and CEO, Barplats Investments Ltd., Vice President, CFO, Zemex Corporation, and President and CEO, Breakwater Resources Ltd. Mr. Palmiere has also served as a director of numerous public companies.

Nick Nikolakakis

Mr. Nikolakakis has over 25 years of corporate finance, accounting and senior management experience within the mining sector. Over his career, he has raised over $2B in numerous mining transactions. Most recently he was the Chief Financial Officer for Battle North Corporation, which has now been acquired by Evolution Mining. He was the former Chief Financial Officer of Rainy River Resources. Prior to Rainy River, Nick was the Vice President of Corporate Finance at Barrick Gold Corporation, where he led a US$1.0 billion project financing deal for Barrick’s Pueblo Viejo project in the Dominican Republic and successfully negotiated a US$1.5 billion corporate revolving credit facility. Other previously held positions by Mr. Nikolakakis include, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Placer Dome Canada, and Treasurer at North American Palladium Ltd. Mr. Nikolakakis holds an Applied Science degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey School of Business.

Tom Yip

Mr. Yip has over 30 years of financial management experience in the mining industry for exploration and development companies and producers, serving as a key member of leadership teams in the development and transition of numerous exploration properties to producing mines. Most recently, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Pretium Resources, after being a member of its board of directors where the company constructed and successfully commissioned the Brucejack mine in northwestern B.C. He was the Chief Financial Officer of Silver Standard when the company built and successfully commissioned the Pirquitas mine in northern Argentina. Tom was the Chief Financial Officer of explorer/developer International Tower Hill Mines, and he began his mining career at Echo Bay Mines, a multi-national explorer and producer (merged with Kinross Gold). Currently he also serves on the board of P2 Gold Inc. Tom is a Chartered Professional Accountant, holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Administration from the University of Alberta and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
